Our Bees Are Locally Bred
Our farm has been raising bees since the 70s. We pride ourselves in keeping strong healthy hives and breeding calm, hygienic, winter hearty genetics. New beekeepers buying bees from us are given a short course on the farm because we want them to succeed. We also want to make sure the colonies that they take home with them get the proper attention and care that they deserve. We work really hard to keep our bees healthy and strong and want to ensure they are well taken care of when they leave our farm.
Nucleus Colonies
We are a New Brunswick supplier of starter honey bee colonies which are often referred to as “nucs”. Each nuc contains 4-5 frames with bees on them, 2 frames of brood, a frame of honey, and an extra
frame for the queen to lay.
Climatized
Survivability of harsh east coast winters is one of the traits we look for in our queens. Breeding from proven queens ensures strong genetics.
Local
Our bees are New Brunswick raised. Our queens are bred from our own unique stock. Each year we
raise around 500 queens from hives selected within our apiaries. We select hives for gentleness, brood pattern, winter hardiness and disease resistance.
Beekeeping is one of the most rewarding things a person can do. Getting away from the world and just spending time with your bees is good for the soul. Enjoying your very own honey at the end of a season and having a strong, happy colony going into winter is worth all the hard summer work.
